Why?A cylinder cannot be half filled

as we know gases do not have any specific shape or volume and take the shape of the container in which they are kept.Even if we try to fill a gas cylinder partially,we wont be able to that as the gas would expand [due to less intermolecular forces of attraction]and fill up the whole gas
