Most of the Moving coil galvanometers, used to measure current (Ammeter), voltage (Voltmeter) or indicator of current in the circuit (galvanometer) are of type “pivoted type moving coil galvanometer”. ... The resistance of an Ammeter needs to be as low as possible, so as not to alter the current which it is to measure....i hope you will understand

because it is used only for measuring small current....it same like why dont we use a 30 cm rular for measuring kilometers..
