Why a heavy gun not recoil so strongly as a light gun firing a bullet ?

Because the mass of heavy gun is more because of which the recoil acceleration will be less. On the other hand, the mass of light gun is less.

Mostly it depends on the momentum of the bullet and the mass of the gun itself their ratio.
