Why a jug of water felt heavier when taken out of water?

That is because the jug pushed up by the upthrust or buoyant force, when it is inside the water. This happens because when the jug
is in water, it experiences an upthrust in the vertically upward direction (2 forces acting to pull upwards while one force to pull downwards).

because when immersed in water an upward force buoyant force acts on it which is equal to the weight of water displaced by jug
