If you neglect air resistance, objects falling near Earth's surface fall with the same approximate acceleration 9.8 meters per second squared (9.8 m/s2, or g) due to Earth's gravity. ... it happens due to the air resistance and friction.

If u try the same experiment in a vacuum then both the body will fall in same time becoz the acceleration is same and there is no air resisitance and friction.
