Lizards have pads on their feet. These pads consist of wide plates or scales and are present below their fingers and toes. Thus while walking or running on horizontal or vertical walls, a lizard curls and uncurls its toes thus creating a suction pressure that enables it to climb to the walls.

Microscopic hairs allow the lizards to employ dry adhesion – meaning they can stick to surfaces without the use of liquids or surface tension – through the creation of so-called van der Waals forces which draw materials together.

Lizards are able to walk on walls easily because their feet have suction pads . The air between feet and wall is pressed out & a low pressure is created. The high pressure of air outside pushes feet to wall & keep it stuck.
