why a map is preferred to a globe?

Both maps and globes are important for geographical studies and research works and they are both used for the same purpose.

But maps are more preferable than the globes because;

1)Maps are just a piece of paper which is easily transportable.

2)The production costs of the maps are also lesser than the globes.

3) Distortion of the land locations are also lesser in the maps rather than the globes.
