Burning of an object depends upon its ignition temperature ie. the minimum temperature at which an object starts burning to give heat and light.

Lesser the ignition temperature, less time it takes to catch fire.

More the ignition temperature, more time it takes to catch fire.

Answer:

This is because the ignetion temperature of these are different.

  • A matchstick requires a friction so that a small heat, it can catch fire.
  • A keeocine requires a small heating, the ignetion temperature is less. So, it catches fire quickly.
  • A wood ignetion temperature is higher so it takes some time to burn.
