1st ray of sun light rises on west of IDL n that day begins on earth.. It travels throughout the globe for 24hrs before reaching again on IDL. Now say day which started on West of IDL is 7th Feb. Now after it travels throughout the globe and just 1° before IDL 7th Feb starts on east of IDL. Now it again reaches west of IDL and 8th Feb starts on west of IDL. Now in this scenario when you go from west of IDL to east of IDL u gain a day. Meaning you get to live 7 Feb twice in your life. While if you move east to west you loose a day meaning you missed 7 Feb from your life and jumped from 6 Feb to 8 Feb!
