Applying the concept of relative motion it will be correspondent to a situation where you are standing static and rain is falling while moving towards the left. Therefore, the rain will have velocities alongside both the x axis (towards left) and y axis (downwards).

The subsequent velocity is given by the vector addition of the x and y components which will be tending at an angle to the horizontal so you need to hold the umbrella tilted.
