It is the various species of Phytoplankton that grows in pond water that gives a green colour to pond. it means that there are enough nutrients in the pond for phytoplankton growth.
Do not fertilise the pond. See that the bird droppings do not get inside the pond water, as these contain phosphates & they give fillip to phytoplankton production.
Introduce some freshwater bivalves, which will filter feed these plankton & harvest them steadily. Introduce phytoplankton feeding fish & after a small amount of time, harvest them. In this way, the plant growth can be curtailed.
