Why a Rabi crop cannot be grown successfully in the same season as kharif crops?

Wheat is a Rabi crop which is grown in winter. If wheat is grown in the Kharif season, it will not grow well, because wheat plants cannot tolerate too much water of the rainy season. Mustard is a Rabi crop.
