Why A rigid block of carbon dioxide disapper without wetting the table?

HI,

   A rigid block of CO2 is called dry ice .Solid form of CO2 is called dry ice .

Dry ice get directly converted to gas form or vapour  without getting into liquid  form.This direct conversion of solid into gas is called sublimation.Due to this process it gets disappeared without wetting the table.
