The Delhi Sultans believed that a slave would be better than a son as the slaves were totally dependent on their masters and couls never disobey them. Thus, the king could trust and rely upon them. But the sons could disobey their fathers, protest for the throne and even kill them.

as a slave totally relied upon his master , he was appointed on the higher positions . they would not betray thier master.
wheras a son could kill, betray his on father and even kill his siblings and father to inherit the Dynasty.
