Reaction of NaHCO3 with H^+1 ion and OH^-1 ion

NaHCO3 + H^+1. +OH^-1 → Na^+1 + HCO3^-1+ H^+1 + OH^-1

→NaOH(aq) + H2CO3 (aq)

Since , NaOH is a strong base while H2CO3 is a weak acid

→Aqueos solution of NaHCO3 is base .........
