Why a stricken heart is more faded than a dried straw

A stricken heart is truly more faded than a dried straw.
A long broken heart won't trust anyone. It will take time to think a hundred times to approach anyone. It will just float into the abyss with a lot of scars. Whereas a dried straw, it's still there, but not quite. A dried straw floats in the air, readily picked up by anyone. The heart gets covered by darkness, and it slowly fades away... much like the straw, but much more.
Ha! Hope you liked it!
