why a submarine can both dive and float

Its density is higher than that of water so it sinks and dives but when it sucks air in,its average density decrease and gets less than that of water so it floats.

due to the air container density . when submarine wants to sink it releases the the air from air bags. and when it want to float it fulls the airbag again
