a table with tight membrane vibrates at a higher pitch because the table has tightly packed membrane that have a good contact with each other. thus the molecules are able to quickly pass the vibrations from one to another. but as in the case of loose membrane the vibrations do not get transferred from one atom to another because it is not in contact with the table and is loose.

A tight membrane produces higher pitch than pitch produces by loose membrane, beacause tight membranes produces little wavelength as compared to loose membrane.
