The maximum height of a projectile is inversely proportional to the value of acceleration due to gravity. So, smaller the acceleration due to gravity, greater is the maximum height. Since, the value of acceleration due to gravity is less on the hills than on the plains, therefore a tennis ball will bounce higher on the hills than in plains.
