Curry contains turmeric powder andsoap is basic in nature. Bases turn turmeric red. Hence, when soap(which is basic in nature) is scrubbed on the stain, the stain turns red. Whenthe cloth is washed with plenty of water, the soap is removed and theyellow colour of the stain reappears

Here's ur answer

Turmeric is a indicator i.e. it is a substance which reacts with acidic and basic substance and changes it colour. It changes it's colour to red on washing with detergent because detergent is mainly composed of Sodium Hydroxide ( NaOH ) which is a basic substance.

Hope it helps ! :-)
