This is because amount of oxygen dissolved in water decreases with increase in temperature. for instance, in cold water levels of oxygen is 10 ppm (parts per million ) compared to only 4 ppm in hot water. that is, cold water has MORE OXYGEN . Therefore, aquatic animals prefer deep down as their summer homes .
