A.C. gives cold air which is heavier and comes down to the floor and so this makes the whole room cold. If the AC was fixed on the floor only the down portion of the room will be cold as the cold air cannot rise.

beacouse hot air are present in room at top because, the molecules of hot air are lighter in weight therefore they has less gravitational force.
