why AC is preferred over DC for long range transmission of electrical power

Ac means alternate current and dc means direct current in ac there is more chances of checking out from shock of current but not in dc .also ac doesn't harms appliance but dc can burst it ....

Beacuse AC has frequency to change the current and so by transformer it reaches 220v to our home.

By heating affect of current i & r is changed and so current in form of heat is reduced.
But I dc i & r can't be changed so current in form of heat is loss mostly
