Why acceleration due to gravity decreases with increasing altitudes?

you can easily understand by seeing the formula

Reason because acceleration due to gravity follow the inverse square law of gravity.

As we go up distance increase and value of g decrease. And also when we go below earth surface because here the reference for g is surface.
