Acetylene is more electronegative than ethane as in acetylene carbon atom is so hybridised while in ethane it is sp3 hybridised. Acidic strength is directly proportional to electronegativity as acids accept lone pair to complete their octet . ... The carbon atoms in acetylene are sp hybridised.
