Answer:

The concentration of ions in pure water is very low and hence, it is poor conductor of electricity. To improve this conductivity, sulphuric acid is added which ionizes completely to give hydrogen ions in solution.

Answer:

Water is a poor conductor of electricity, but it does contain some hydrogen ions , H +, and hydroxide ions, OH -. ... If water is acidified with a little dilute sulfuric acid: H + ions are attracted to the cathode , gain electrons and form hydrogen gas.
