So if acids are stored in metal containers the they would react with Metals to form Metal salt and hydrogen gas. ... Thus, if acid is stored in metals, it will react with the metals to form new compounds and thus eating away the metals. On the other hand, glass does not react with acids, keeping the acid and itself safe.
