Why acids show acidified nature during the presence of water but do not show acidified nature when not combined water

Acid shows its acidic nature when its hydrigen ir hydronium ion r formes. When acid is mix with water it dissosiate into hydronium ion. While without any medium it donot dissosciate. Thats why acid showa acidic nature in water. Pls mark my ans as a brainliest
