Adrenal glands are called fighting glands because when we are angry or are having pain, a hormone called Adrenaline secretes. Due to this secretion, the following changes takes place-increasing the heart rate, increasing blood pressure, expanding the air passages of the lungs, enlarging the pupil in the eye (see photo), redistributing blood to the muscles and altering the body's metabolism, so as to maximise blood glucose levels (primarily for the brain).With these changes, Human gets angry and gets the power to fight or punch with a larger force.
