⭐⭐⬅️ Answer ➡️➡️➡️➡️

The amount of gas adsorbed by a solid depends on the nature of gas. In general easily liquefiable gases (i.e. with higher critical temperature) are readily adsorbed. Thus of activated charcoal adsorbs more sulfur dioxide (critical temperature ) than methane (critical temperature )

1) Higher critical temperatures signifies that the gas is easily liquefiable i.e. has stronger van der Waal's forces / molecular forces of attraction / cohesive forces. Due to this, easily liquefiable gases like NH, SO. Higher the critical temperature of the gas, greater is the extent of adsorption.
