why AIDs is called a syndrome not a disease ?

AIDS is considered a syndrome because all the HIV does is weaken the immune system by attacking the T-cells and the subsequent symptoms that a person develops is due to disease a person sustains due to impaired immune system. So, AIDS itself does not have any symptoms.

1. AIDS effects our immune system.In HIV infection, the viruses goes to the immune system and damages it's function.

2.Thus, many of the effects of HIV and AIDS are becoz the body can no longer fight off the many minor infections that we face everyday

3.Instead, every small cold can become pneumonia. similarly , a minor gut infection can produced major diarrhoea with blood loss.

4.ultimately, it is these other infection that kill people suffering from HIV - AIDS
