why air is both heterogeneous and homogeneous ? give reason

Of course, in practice air contain very small solid.. particles in suspension (dust, pollen) and thus it becomes heterogeneous. If you are simply talking about air being a mixture of gases (nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide etc.) than air is a homogeneous mixture.....
