yes,
it is true to said that that airplanes have pressurized cabins for the passengers safety while flying at higher altitude.

this is because the amount of oxygen present at Higher altitudes is very less as compared to the amount of oxygen we have at present on the lands at this zero degree altitude.

as we know that,

the altitude it is inversely proportional to the amount of oxygen.
this means that higher we go, less oxygen we get.

so,
when the aeroplanes fly at Higher altitudes the about of oxygen available to the passengers are very less.
so, they might suffocate at that particular high altitude.
so, aeroplanes have pressurised cabins which are filled with Oxygen gas so that the passengers don't face any difficulty in order to breathe at higher altitude.

this helps in keeping the passengers safe even at Higher altitudes where the amount of oxygen is quite less.

this way the specialised cabins help in protecting these passengers were travelling in the planes which fly at higher altitudes.

Also,
we know that the air present in the atmosphere is quite unevenly distributed.
this means that the if the attitudes are less then the density of air is very high and as we go up in the altitude the density of air gets thinner and thinner.
hence, we get less oxygen at higher altitude

the pressurized cabins helps to fulfill this oxygen demand only.
hence they protect the passengers who are travelling in the planes at higher altitude.
