why alcohol are acidic in nature

Alcohols are weak Bronsted acids because of the polar nature of O-H bond (due to presence of alkyl group, that side of oxygen atom has more electron density). The transfer of protons(H+ ions) is more feasible in reaction with a nucleophile.

bcoz OH bond on alcohol molecules is polar as electronegativity of o2 is much more than H2. hence alcohol can easily donate proton and according to Lowrey Bronsted theory, proton donators are called ACIDS
