why AlF3 is not hypovalent​

Answer:

AlF3 is an ionic compound. Those species which have the central atom with less than eight electron in the outermost shell or valence shell are considered as hypovalent species. Since, there are 8 electrons remaining in the valence shell of central atom in AlF3. So, AlF3 is not “Hypovalent”.
