is a water plant belonging to the division Thyllophyta.

They are of various colours such as green, red, brown, blue-green, yellow-green & so on.

They are eukaryotes & multicellular.

algae contains a huge amount of chlorophyll and are green just like grass, they also perform photosynthesis that is why they are the grass of water
