As alkali metals are group 1 elements. They have one electron in outermost orbit. This electron is loosely held by the protons so these elements easily loose one electron to form bond with other elements. This makes them the highly electropositive elements.Due to their high reactivity they are found mainly in combined state.

hope this answer will help you.
