why alkali metals are stored in carosine oil

they are corrosive.. n highly reactive.

they are stored this way because these metals are highly reactive when exposed to air and moisture and ignites instantly by the contact of either of them. so to prevent their contact they are stored in mineral oil or Kerosene etc.
