Catalysts are anything that increase the speed of a reaction by decreasing activation energy needed so enzymes are catalysts, but enzymes proteins catalysts. All enzymes are catalysts but not all catalysts are enzymes. Both enzymes and catalysts are known to affect the rate of a reaction.
