Not just Bollywood but almost all the industries in India release their films in Friday for the following reasons.
Friday is considered as the "auspicious" day in a week according to Indian culture.
There are consecutive weekends following it. So a reasonable gamble for huge box office can be expected.
Often we feel exhausted after a week's work. A movie is a good tool for relaxation after work.
Often the turnover of audiences is more when released in Friday rather than weekdays.
