Hi Amansinghjatt4656!
See..oscillatory motion is an to n fro motion . isn't it? ..pendulum is an example for it .Now don't get confused by the wrds ' to n fro ' .
It simply means back n forth motion . #swing is also an example.
Nd periodic motion repeats itself after a fixed interval of tym .
Oscillatory motion also repeats after a fixed interval of tym.
Now Don't get confused over here..
Oscillatory motions are periodic motion . But all periodic motions need not be oscillatory . Becoz ..hmm..let's take planets n sun as an example . planets ..they keep on revolving around the sun . so v can say that it is a periodic motion since it repeats it after certain interval of time. But it cannot be an oscillatory motion. Is that , they cannot be said to perform to n fro motion . Thus from this v can say that motions need not be oscillatory!
Orbit of earth around the sun is also an example for this.
