why all well shape is in round shape?

so that more water could be stored and it helps in fetching water too

because the structure of well should be strong enough to prevent collapse, so the wells are designed round in shape to resist it from any damage. if we construct Wells in square or rectangular shape, they will not be much strong as their corners are strong not the whole structure. also round shaped wells give an arch effect as same as arch dams.
