Why alloys are not used to make resistance wire in electronic appliances?

Alloys have high resistivity(low electrical conductivity) than the pure metal, hence alloys don’t melt or break at high temperature.

They form protective layer when first heated, so material beneath this layer will not oxidize, preventing the wire from breaking or burning out.
