Why allyl carbocation is more stable than propyl carbocation?

I assume you mean a propene carbocation, & which would be stabilized by resonance with the double bond (pi bond) with the adjacent carbon, thus lowering the energy of the carbocation by distributing the positive charge all over instead of keeping it trapped on one atom as in a propane carbocation.
