Why almost helium gas is found in radioactive mines?

The radioactive decay of uranium, thorium and their daughter elements generates alpha-particles which are retained in the rocks. The hydrocarbons and other gases present in natural gas act as scavengers to collect the helium, and this is supposed to be the mechanism by which helium came to be present in natural gas
