Aluminum is metal and iodine is non metal ..

So the Bond formed by them can never be ionic

Explanation:

The atom turns into an ion, making it more stable. We write the aluminum ion as Al+3. Non-metals gain electrons, and iodine is a non-metal. Iodine gains one electron because it needs one electron to make its outer shell complete.
