As USA was funding local mujahideen fighters during cold war to tight USSR is Afghanistan ( Till this point USA thought terrorism is a problem in equrope and Asia) . They also
funded Osama bin Laden who later formed Al Qaeda and led to 9/11
This made USA realese that terrorism is not a problem in equrope and Asia it's a global problem
This caused greater involvement of USA in Asia to help stop spread of terrorism and bring Osama bin Laden to justice
