The gravitational force by the earth on the apple is much larger compared to the force exerted by the apple because there is a vast difference in the mass of the two bodies.

Answer:
from Newton's second law ,we know that a=f/m
an apple has a mass smaller as compared to earth ,indicating that it's acceleration will be more, thus it falls down..on the contrary, earth has a huge mass indicating acceleration that is so less, that it's considered negligible..hence earth does not move towards apple
