Sudden vibrations caused by the movement of Lithospheric plates are called Earthquakes.

And now I will explain why is it caused and how is it caused...

WHy?

It is basically caused due to movement of lithospheric plates like movement of the shaking of a volcano basically.

How?

THE vibrations are called seismic waves which travel over a large area. The point where the earthquake originates inside the earths crust is called focus while the point on the earths surface, just above the focus which is the epicentre.
