Why an electric current only produce magnetic field

Answer:For an electric current to flow through a conductor, there must be an electric field (ie, voltage) causing that current across the conductor. And in fact, that current flow does cause an electric field, due to the Lorentz contraction. That is what you call the magnetic field.
